One dead, two injured in Ohio crash

On Behalf of | Aug 14, 2013 | Car Accidents |

One teenager died and two other people were injured in a crash that occurred in the Chauncey area. According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 7:30 a.m., just past Route 682 on Route 33. According to the patrol, a 17-year-old girl ran a stop sign on Route 682 and collided with a truck that was coming on Route 33.

The Ohio Highway Patrol reported that she died at the scene of the car accident. Her 17-year-old passenger was transported to a local hospital. The 56-year-old driver of the truck was also taken to a local hospital.

The people who were injured in the accident could choose to file personal injury lawsuits to attempt to seek compensation for their injuries. When people choose to file personal injury lawsuits, they could potentially receive reimbursement for any hospital bills, other medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering that they incurred. Even if the drivers who are deemed responsible for accidents die in the accidents, the injured people may still be able to sue their estates. Therefore, anything that the deceased people had designated for their family members in a will might be subject to be taken to be able to pay compensation for the people’s lawsuits if they are won.

Personal injury lawyers could be able to help people determine whether or not the meet the eligibility requirements to file a claim and then help them prepare their statements for their claims. They might also be able to help them negotiate settlements with the defendants without having to go through a trial before a judge or a jury.
